David V. Gray designed an oversaw the extensive remodeling of the front of our house. He immediately understood what we had in mind, and his design was better than the picture in our heads. Our house was built originally about 1980, and David’s design honored that era while bringing the house up-to-date. Once the renovation was complete, the house looked as if it has wanted to look just like that. We had numerous compliments from family and friends. They couldn’t believe what a fantastic transformation the house had undergone. Once the design was agreed upon, the actual work took about 7 months to complete, and David was always available to the contractor, to my husband and me. David has a great sense of design, is a good listener and is the person we will seek if we need an architect again. My husband and I recommend David without reservation. He is talented and is wonderful to work with.
My experience was great, I was immediately welcomed in. He discussed my plan, and also gave me a great alternative to help bring my plan within budget. Definitely will call again for my next project.

David was the architect for the new home we wanted to build. We had ideas on a floor plan for the first floor and David carefully listened to all our comments. He had us send pictures of things we liked in houses so he could get a better idea of what we would like incorporated into the design. We asked him to revise just a couple of things on the floor plan he initially sent to us; he listened carefully to our comments and the next floor plan was just what we wanted. We had no idea what the outside of the house should look like so we told David to show us his design concept. After we saw the exterior design, he asked what changes we would like. We said none as it was perfect just the way he designed it! David is a very good listener, thus getting our ideas into the plans. But we thought it was terrific that he added special touches to see if we might like these. For example, he had added a balcony to the second floor office, and a pergola that were wonderful and special additions.
We wanted our new home to be green as well as handicap accessible on the first floor so we could age in place. David’s plans for green building included geothermal heating, ICFs in the basement, SIPS for first and second story walls, and low-e windows, which have decreased heating and cooling costs as well as making the house very comfortable on the coldest and hottest days. Too often handicap accessible homes can have an institutional look, but not so with David’s design. Our home does not look like it is handicap accessible, as David seamlessly incorporated these features into the overall design.
We strongly recommend David to anyone looking for an architect. He is not only a brilliant architect with terrific ideas, but also fun and easy to work with. We were living on the east coast when working with David, and in spite of the distance there was no stress. We loved the experience of working with him and we now have our dream home thanks to David.
David listened to my concerns and helped me meet the city code with no problem. He even took the time to educate me on what I was looking at with my project much better than anyone else. I would definitely recommend him and will be calling again myself!
I’ve worked with Dave at DVG Architecture on numerous projects in several different capacities-as a developer, general contractor and sub contractor. Throughout my dealings with Dave, he has proven to be a person of high integrity, honesty, and creativity. Dave always does just what he says he will do in an accurate timeline, a rare commodity in our business! Dave’s fees always feel more than fair and a very good value. The first time that I worked with Dave was on a very complicated historical building remodel in Downtown Missoula, MT. The building is over 100 years old and had been remodeled numerous times over its life. Dave produced plans that were amazingly accurate and the final project is nearly exactly as it was drawn. I highly recommend DVG Architecture and look forward to working with them in the future.
DVG Architecture did the plans for our recent remodel to an older home. David is responsive, quick, thinks of lots of issues ahead of time, and is reasonably priced. Our remodel looks great, inside and out.
